Firdous lauds services of Christian community in development of country

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has extended felicitations to members of the Christian community in Pakistan on their religious festival of Easter.

Talking to a press conference in Sialkot on Sunday, she urged them to stay safe and keep their families safe during the coronavirus pandemic.

She appreciated the services of Christian community in development and progress of the country.

Referring to corona pandemic she expressed PM Imran Khan's resolve to not leave the people alone in these tough times.

She said government has launched largest ever cash transfer program to assist the poor and corona affectees.

She expressed government's determination to bring full transparency and merit in the program.

She said under the program over 16 billion rupees are being distributed to 1.38 million deserving families across country.

SAPM said 400 million rupees are being disbursed to to 2817 families in district Sialkot.

Dr Firdous said PM Imran Khan issued special directions to Ministry of Information Technology to start face recognition program besides bio matric matching.

She said the state of Pakistan is fully determined to facilitate the poor and needy people across the country.

She said federal government is providing full assistance to provinces in order to curb corona pandemic.
