A leading American newspaper New York Times has said that Delhi police showed partisan attitude to tackle the communal riots as Hindu mobs are carrying out deadly attacks against Muslims in the capital.

The newspaper stated that some Muslims are leaving their neighborhoods as they have lost their faith in the police.

Over one thousand Muslims have piled into a camp for internally displaced people that is rising on Delhi’s outskirts.

The newspaper further said BJP has embraced a militant brand of Hindu nationalism and its leaders have openly vilified Indian Muslims.
