The Senate unanimously passed a resolution expressing dismay over the continued occupation of Palestinians’ land and detention of hundreds of Palestinians by the Israel.
The resolution was moved by Senator Mushtaq Ahmed.
The House was deeply concerned by the so called '' deal of the century'' that tantamount to an instrument of humiliating surrender for the Palestinians before the oppressor.
The resolution called for a peaceful solution to Palestine issue in light of UNGA and UNSC resolutions, safe return of all Palestinians to their homes and lands currently in illegitimate possession of Israeli settlers in breach of international law, and stopping the acts of aggression against Palestinians.
The House called upon the government to take steps for summoning an emergency summit meeting of the OIC to chalk out a consensus-based strategy, with due regard to the rights and legitimate interests of the Palestinian people as recognized by the international law.
It also asked the government to take steps for summoning special session of the UNGA to consider the constitution of an international Arbitration Commission, to hear the Palestinians and other stakeholders, and explore options for a peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue.
The resolution urged the government to constitute a special committee of the parliamentarians, international law experts and representatives of human rights organizations, to visit different countries to sensitize the world community about the need for a peaceful and just solution to the Palestinian issue.
Three other resolutions were also passed in the House.
First resolution recommended introducing a Group Insurance Scheme for government employees on the analogy of the Provincial Government employees.
The second resolution recognized the fact that on the Hazara Motorway (M-15) interchange has been provided to connect the Abbottabad city.
In the third resolution, the House condemned the recent wheat and flour crisis in the country.
Meanwhile, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Khan Swati said Pakistan and China are always time-tested friend and there could be no substitute of it.
Winding up discussion on an adjournment motion, he said friendship with China is growing day by day.
Commenting on Foreign Policy, he said Pakistan will not allow its soil to be used against any other country.
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs said IMF acknowledges that economic growth of Pakistan is on upward trajectory. It has also acknowledged that economic policies of the government are improving.
Later, the Chair prorogued the House due to lack of quorum.
Meanwhile, three bills were introduced in the House.
These include; “The Islamabad High Court (Amendment) Bill, 2020”, “The Islamabad Consumers Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2020” and “The Anti-terrorism (Amendment) Bill, 2020”.
The chair referred the bills to the standing committees concerned.
