In Afghanistan, eight militants were killed and two others injured when fighting planes of government forces targeted a Taliban hideout in Dasht-e-Archi district of the northern Kunduz province on Sunday.

Meanwhile, eight security personnel were also killed when militants attacked a security checkpoint in the eastern Logar province.
