ECC approves grant of over Rs4m for improvement of Watercourses in Islamabad

Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved a supplementary grant of over four billion rupees for improvement of Watercourses in Islamabad and to address matters relating to FBR.

The committee, which met in Islamabad on Wednesday with Finance Adviser Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, approved 4152 million rupees for FBR from Pakistan Raises Revenue Program to meet the mandatory and inevitable expenditures.

It approved 44.447 million rupees for Islamabad Capital territory to execute “National Program for improvement of Watercourses phase II in Islamabad Capital Territory, productivity enhancement of wheat, calf feedlot fattening in Pakistan and development of backyard poultry in ICT.

On the request from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs for the recovery of outstanding wharfage of 1.696 billion rupees on import of LNG by PSO, ECC directed that the outstanding amount will be paid in 10 equal installments without interest over a period of next ten years. However in January2023, a committee will review the circumstances and suggest any possibility for early repayment of the remaining sum.

Prime Minister's Special Assistant for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zulfiqar Bukhari gave a presentation on various important issues pertaining to overseas Pakistanis.

He said that efforts are being made for identification of trades and skill sets in demand to meet the requirements of international job market. He said efficient provision of E-Passport, and other documents to overseas Pakistanis.
