Renowned Scholar of Urdu literature, researcher and writer Jameel Jalibi passed away in Karachi on Thursday.
He was 89.
Muhammad Jameel Khan known as Jamil Jalibi served as Vice Chancellor of University of Karachi and remained President of Urdu Lughat Board and Chairman of National Language Authority.
He wrote many books including Pakistani Culture, Aristotle to Elliot, Tareekh-e-Adab-e-Urdu, Tanqeed aur Tajarba.
He was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz and Hilal-e-Imtiaz by government of Pakistan in recognition of his services for the promotion of national language Urdu.
