Pakistan, Malaysia vow to further expand bilateral ties

Prime Minister Imran Khan and his Malaysian counterpart Mahathir Mohammad have expressed firm resolve to further expand bilateral ties.

The resolve was expressed during a telephone call by Prime Minister Imran Khan to Dr Mahathir Mohammad today (Thursday).

The Prime Minister conveyed the immense respect of the people of Pakistan and his own for Prime Minister Mahathir as a statesman and global leader. He underscored the close and cordial relations between the two countries.            

Imran Khan extended his heartfelt felicitations to the Malaysian Prime Minister on victory of "Pakatan Harapan" in general elections and appreciated Prime Minister Mahathir's vision for Malaysia's steady economic progress.

The Prime Minister highlighted the need of high level exchanges between the two countries as well as collaboration at operational level to benefit from each other's expertise.

He invited his Malaysian counterpart to visit Pakistan, which he accepted. Prime Minister Mahathir also invited Prime Minister Imran Khan for an early visit to Malaysia.  

The Malaysian Prime Minister reciprocated Prime Minister Imran Khan's sentiments and congratulated him on PTI's victory in Pakistan's recent elections.
