President Dr Arif Alvi has said that joint sitting of the Parliament took an outstanding decision of passing legislation on Electronic Voting Machines.

In a tweet, he said he has been a proponent of technology both for Electronic Voting Machines and voting by Overseas Pakistanis.

The president said after the historic legislation by the Parliament, now it is up to Election Commission of Pakistan to issue specifications at the earliest so that next general election should be fair and transparent.
