Dr. Salman Shah (Advisor to the Chief Minister of Punjab on Economic Affairs):  The construction of low-cost housing projects initiated by the present government is an essential part as far as basic human rights are concerned. The provision of shelter to the people is responsibility of state. Prime Minister Imran Khan also decided to subsidize the low-cost housing project in order to ensure to provide maximum relief to the poor. It is the dream of everyone to have his or her own shelter. The focus on housing and construction sector would strengthen national economy, stabilize industrial growth and generate employment for youth. The Punjab government has provided land and other facilities for the project. Now the deserving people will also have their own houses. The invitation of work on Mohmand and Bhasha Dams is another major achievement of the PTI-led government. Water is an important natural resources and it is the need of time that we should construct more dams and reserves in order to store water rather than to waste it.  

Humayun Iqbal Shami (Chairman, Pakistan Economic Forum): Pakistan was in dire need of over 10 million new houses to fulfill the requirements of people. Unfortunately, none of the previous governments paid attention to construct of new houses. At international level, the main component of GDP is the housing sector and we can learn from experiences of Singapore in this regard. There is also a need to introduce the mortgage system like other countries. The government must also focus on introducing reforms in banking sector so that a common man can avail the opportunity of getting loans on easy terms and conditions to buy homes.

Dr. Khurram Iqbal (Expert on International Relations): Israeli aggression against Palestinians is going on unabated. The United States has once again proved that if you are an American ally, no matter how much human rights you are violating or how much atrocities you are committing, you can easily get away with that because you have the US support. Palestinians are continuing their struggle unarmed to get their right to self-determination. It is the responsibility of international community to take urgent action to halt the Israeli military operation and to revive peace talks aimed at securing a two-state solution. The world powers must ensure complete and immediate stop of the attacks that have affected innocent civilians and their properties, in gross violation of international law and United Nations resolutions on the question of Palestine

Dr. Huma Baqai (Expert on International Relations): China in the current situation is openly criticizing the US policies in Middle East and holding her responsible for changing scenario in Middle Eastern region. The United States has played its influential role in normalizing diplomatic relations of Arab world with Israel. Israel is using its modern technology weapons against the unarmed Palestinians. Pakistan is playing a vital role at diplomatic level to highlight Israeli aggression against the people of Palestine. It is a fact that that the continuation of the attacks and provocations will increase the risks of instability with serious implications for security in and outside of the region. Israeli Prime Minister has stated that Israel's military operation against Palestinian Hamas militants in Gaza will continue with full force. Palestinian Foreign Minister will represent the stance of Palestine at the UNGA forum.
