Prof Ghulam Mustafa Khan (IR Expert): India is a peace spoiler in the region and using Afghan land against Pakistan. The Modi regime has polarized the Indian society and tarnished the secular face of India. Pakistan believes that peace in Afghanistan is in the best interest of the entire region. Pakistan has always emphasized on the significance of Afghan-led Afghan-owned peace process. Islamabad has always endorsed every initiative taken for Afghan dispute. Pakistan's political and military leadership are on the same page regarding Afghan peace. The people of Afghanistan have been facing severe violence for the last two decades. Peace in Afghanistan is the real need of the brave Afghan people who have rendered matchless sacrifices for peace. Pakistan is pursuing effective foreign policy to sustain durable peace in Afghanistan. Peace in Afghanistan is directly linked in peace and stability in Pakistan.
Brig Retd Mehmood shah (Defense Analyst): India's involvement in Afghanistan is not constructive and creates hurdles in the success of Afghan reconciliation process. Islamabad has sufficient evidence that India is financing terrorists to destabilize Pakistan. The success of Afghan dialogues will determine the future of Afghanistan. All the stakeholders should show some flexibility for the success of Afghan reconciliation process. Pakistan has a key role to play in the success of intra Afghan dialogues. The Afghan Taliban are emerging as a powerful political group. The Kabul government must realize that power should not be centralized and all the representatives of people must have their equal share.
Brig. Retd. Said Nazir (Defence Analyst): Pakistan has facilitated the Afghanistan peace process. Afghanistan wants further support from Pakistan for the success of intra-Afghan dialogue. The incumbent government and foreign office have expressed concerns over usage of Afghan soil against Pakistan. Both the countries should work together to detect and defeat non-state actors. The United States wants an agreement between Pakistan and Afghanistan for a regional understanding. The governments on both sides should work together to deal with the regional challenges. Pakistan is working on the policy of economic support and soft borders with Afghanistan. Pakistan wants security and stability on its Western border in order to deal with the challenges on Eastern border.
Abdullah Gul (IR Expert): The new administration of the United States is willing to withdraw its forces from Afghanistan as soon as possible. The Kabul government has realized that cooperation with Pakistan is imperative for durable peace in Afghanistan. Pakistan has always played an important role for political and economic stability in Afghanistan. The Prime Minister Imran Khan visit to Afghanistan holds great significance as far as post withdrawal scenario and economic cooperation is concerned. The ground realities and shift in global politics suggest that collective efforts are required to face future challenges. Islamabad has only one demand from the Kabul that Afghan soil should not be used against Pakistan. Unfortunately the Kabul government has little control over Afghanistan. The regional prosperity is directly linked with the peaceful solution of the Kashmir dispute. India must stop its state terrorism and hegemonic policies.
