Seven million families enrolled under Sehat Insaaf Card program; NA told

National Assembly was informed today (Monday) that seven million families have been enrolled under Sehat Insaaf Cards program aimed at providing free of cost indoor healthcare facilities to the people.

Parliamentary Secretary for National Health Services Nousheen Hamid told the house during question hour that three hundred thousand people have so far received medical treatment under this program. She said an amount of ten billion rupees has been spent on the scheme.

Nousheen Hamid said pharmaceutical companies had agreed not to increase prices of medicines amidst Covid-19 challenge. She said action will be taken if the prices were increased before September this year.

Parliamentary Secretary for Railways Farrukh Habib said the up-gradation of railways infrastructure under the seven billion dollars ML-1 project will help check train accidents.

Minister for Religious Affairs Noor ul Haq Qadri told the house that the pilgrims’ welfare fund has been established and the amount in it is used for welfare of pilgrims in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.     

Responding to a calling attention notice moved by Romina Khursheed Alam, Adviser on Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan categorically stated that there is no plan to limit the retirement age of government employees to fifty five years or abolish the pension and stop the annual increment in salaries.

The Adviser on Parliamentary Affairs also laid before the house the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (Amendment) Ordinance 2020.

Responding to a calling attention notice, Parliamentary Secretary for National Health Services Nousheen Hamid said the coronavirus cases are on the decline in the country due to the successful policy of the government.

She said the positivity rate during the current month has dropped to ten percent.
