Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has called for adopting a joint global strategy to tackle coronavirus pandemic.

Talking to head of World Health Organization in Iran Dr Syed Jaffar Hussain at Pakistan's embassy in Tehran today (Wednesday), he said third wave of corona pandemic in Pakistan is proving to be more deadly.

The Minister said despite limited resources, effective strategies, including smart lockdown, are being put in place to stop the spread of pandemic. He said vaccination process is gradually underway in Pakistan.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said in the first phase, doctors, nurses and paramedical staff are being protected with vaccines.

He lauded the services of WHO to control the spread of pandemic.
