October 26, 2018

Federal Minister for Law Dr Farogh Naseem says a draft of the Whistleblower Protection and Vigilance Commission will be presented in parliament for exposing corruption.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad this evening, the Minister said the law will include protections for whistle-blowers.

He said the persons who give information about corruption will be given 20 percent reward of the recovered amount.

Dr Farogh Naseem said a commission will be set up comprising persons of moral integrity from public or private sector who will assess the complaints and refer them to investigation agencies including NAB, FIA, and anti-corruption establishments.

He said the commission will have wide ranging powers to check corruption.

Dr Farogh Naseem said the draft law is part of government's drive to expose and root out corruption from the society.

Replying to a question, the Minister said commission will work impartially and on non-partisan basis .
