Afghan Taliban has warned of dire consequences if United States fails to pull out troops from war-battered country as scheduled.
Talking to reporters in Kabul today (Saturday), Afghanistan's National Security Advisor, Hamdullah Mohib said Taliban's warning came at moment when government is preparing to attend upcoming peace conference in Turkey early next month.
Meanwhile, Senior Presidential Advisor, Waheed Omar said Afghan President Muhammad Ashraf Ghani would present an early election plan at Istanbul conference and will put forward a proposed roadmap for peace in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, U.S. Special Envoy for Afghanistan, Zalmay Khalilzad has departed for Turkey to encourage Afghan parties to accelerate negotiations to end conflict in the country.
In a statement, State Department, referring to Afghan government and Taliban, said Zalmey will engage two sides on their preparatory efforts for talks on a political settlement that produces a permanent ceasefire and a durable and just peace.
