Remittances from overseas Pakistanis are expected to reach twenty to twenty-one billion dollars in current fiscal due to prudent measures taken by the government.

In a statement, Finance Ministry said government measures announced recently to boost remittances have paid off as remittances have already touched 17 billion dollars level during the first nine months of the current fiscal year against 16 billion dollars last year, registering a growth of 6.2 percent.

The government has taken various initiatives to encourage and facilitate overseas Pakistanis to send their remittances through official banking channels.
