Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood has said process has been started to introduce a uniform syllabus in the country to remove the existing disparity in the education system.
He told the Senate during Question Hour on Thursday that hectic consultations have been held with the provinces on the matter. He said it is our desire to implement the single national curriculum in phases from April next year.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan informed the House that eradication of polio in Pakistan has been declared as a national public health emergency. He said the government has started different polio campaigns to eradicate the polio disease.
Minister for Communication Murad Saeed told the House that the ground breaking of Hyderabad-Sukkur Motorway will be performed next year. He said the re-construction of Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway M-9 is being done as per international standards.
At the outset, the house offered Fateha for those martyred in Peshawar Madrassa blast.
Responding to a calling attention regarding China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority Ordinance 2019, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz said that CPEC is not the project of any political party, it is the project of the people of Pakistan and China. He said no conspiracy can derail the project. He said all the projects of CPEC are successfully advancing towards their completion.
The Minister said that the CPEC Authority is a symbol of love and friendship between the people of both the countries. He said the government is creating such a mechanism through which all the CPEC related projects could be completed in a coherent manner.
The Minister said that there are many enemies of the CPEC project and we should not play in the hands of others.
The House also discussed the recent Peshawar Madrassa blast.
Initiating the debate, Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan demanded the government to announce a package for the martyrs and injured of the incident. He also strongly condemned the blast.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibili Faraz said our people and armed forces valiantly combated the war against terrorism. He said we need to promote unity amongst our ranks to defeat the conspiracies being hatched by our enemies. He said the entire country is aggrieved over the Peshawar incident.
Senator Siraj ul Haq said the terrorists of the Peshawar Madrassa blast should be taken to the logical end at the earliest. He expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the incident.
