Analysts appreciate clear stance of government regarding not recognizing Israel
December 29, 2020

Dr. Sarfraz Khan (IR Expert): Pakistan has always been supporting the Palestinian cause. Israel has been committing atrocities in Palestine for the last many decades. Pakistan wants a peaceful solution of Palestinian issue. Pakistan is against the illegal state of Israel. Pakistan enjoys good relations with the Gulf countries. Many Gulf States have already recognized Israel, however Islamabad stands firm on its stance not to recognize the Jewish state without any solution to the Palestinian dispute. Jewish illegal occupation of Palestinian territory is not acceptable. The United States’ tilt towards Israel is further escalating tension in the region. Pakistan would not change its stance regarding Palestine.

Dr. Rasheed Ahmed Khan (IR Expert): Pakistan has categorically rejected any possibility of accepting Israeli state without resolving the issue of Palestine. Many Gulf States have recognized the state of Israel.  However, Pakistan has a clear stance that Israel has illegally expelled the Palestinians from their native land and occupied it. The issue of Palestine was very close to the heart of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The people of Pakistan have deep and spiritual links with the people of Palestine. Pakistan is committed to support the people of Palestine in their freedom struggle. Anti-Pakistan elements are spreading rumors that Islamabad is planning to recognize the state of Israel. It is a malicious agenda to provoke the people of Pakistan against the state and malign the image of Pakistani government.

Dr. Mirza Ikhtiyar Baig (Economist): We have strong diplomatic, strategic and economic ties with China. Trade between the two countries has significantly improved in recent years. China is a big market and sound economic ties with Beijing are highly beneficial for Pakistan. China has always supported Pakistan at the international front and played an important role in economic stability of Pakistan. CEPC has emerged as a house of opportunities for both the countries.

Dr. Shahid Hassan Siddique (Economist): There are some elements that are envious of CPEC and growing Pak-China economic ties. CPEC is game changer for Pakistan which is against India's strategic and economic interests. Pakistan is not oblivious to agenda of the enemies. It is high time for Pakistani government to highlight the benefits of CPEC and negate the negative propaganda against Islamabad. The media can play a significant role in order to spread awareness regarding this billion dollar project. We have successfully completed the first phase of CPEC. The power shortage issue has been resolved and we are heading in the right direction. The development in infrastructure and agriculture would help boost the economy. The economic zones would generate massive job opportunities for the local population.
