Kashmiri women worst victims of Indian state terrorism in IIOJ&K: Report

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops are deliberately targeting the Kashmiri women to suppress the Kashmiris' ongoing struggle for securing freedom from India's illegal occupation of their soil.

A report released by Kashmir Media Service said that Kashmiri women are the worst victims of Indian state terrorism in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The report further said that Kashmiri women faced harassment, abuse and sexual violence at the hands of Indian forces for the last over seven decades particularly since 1989.

It quoted the recent incident in which Indian Army personnel assaulted a family during  a cordon and search operation in Tral area of Pulwama.

The report said that Indian forces are using rape as a tool to humiliate the Kashmiris and intimidate them into submission.

It said that the Indian troops raped more than eleven thousand women since 1989 till date in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat leaders and organizations have expressed deep concern over worst state terrorism by Indian authorities in the territory.

In a statement in Srinagar, All Parties Hurriyat Conference has condemned ransacking of houses and brutal thrashing of civilians by Indian Army in Seer Jageer area of Tral in Pulwama district.

It said Indian troops have unleashed a reign of terror across the territory to suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle for securing their right to self-determination.

Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee, headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement in Srinagar condemned the increasing intimidation of the people and continued violation of their basic rights by Indian troops in the occupied territory.

In their separate statements, Hurriyat leaders and organizations urged India to stop its state terrorism in IIOJK and take steps towards settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people for ensuring lasting peace in South Asia.
