President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged Ulema and Mashaikh to effectively use the platforms of mosque and pulpit to educate people on social issues, including climate change, health, cleanliness and equality.

He was addressing the opening session of National Rehmatul-lil-Alameen Conference in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW) celebrations in Islamabad on Friday.

The President said Ulema should disseminate information about Clean and Green Pakistan, stunting, hereditary rights of women and communicable diseases.

He said our Prophet Muhammad Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) especially focused on equality in society, rights of the poor, environmental protection and cleanliness. He underlined the need for following the teachings and life of Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) for solution to our all social problems.

The President commended the role played by the religious scholars in the successful fight against Covid-19. Referring to the improvement on the economic front, he was confident Pakistan will emerge as a strong nation.

Arif Alvi strongly condemned the attacks being made on the holy personalities of Islam in the European countries saying they have no realization and regard for the sentiments of Muslims. He said patronage of blasphemous acts in those countries at the state level including the statement of the French President will only create friction in their own societies.

Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noorul Haq Qadri said Ishaq -e-Rasool week is being observed to express our deep love for Khatam-un-Nabiyeen Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW). He said the holy Prophet is a blessing for the whole universe.

Adviser on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said the present government has given a new direction to development by envisaging Clean and Green Program. He said the basis of this program is also the teachings of Khatam-un-Nabiyeen Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW).

Addressing the conference, Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul said Islam advocates environmental protection and conservation of nature.  She said Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) has asked Muslims not to waste water even they are sitting on the bank of the river for ablution.

She highlighted the challenges Pakistan has been facing because of climate change. She said Pakistan is the fifth most vulnerable country to climate change in the world.

Zartaj Gul said Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched various initiatives to protect environment such as Ten Billion Tree Tsunami, construction of five major dams and Clean and Green Pakistan initiative. She urged Ulema to play their role in spreading awareness about hazards of climate change in the country.

Special Representative to the Prime Minister on Religious Harmony Tahir Ashrafi urged the UN to pass legislation for the sanctity of holy Prophets.

Quoting Hadiths,   Religious Scholars said planting trees and water conversation is Sunnah of the holy Prophet.

Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri has said our respect for Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Salam Khatim-un-Nabiyeen will increase against any blasphemous attempt in the world.

He was delivering opening remarks in National Rehmatul-lil-Alameen Conference in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAAW) celebrations in Islamabad today. The Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan announced to observe Ishq-e-Rasool (SAWW) Week from today to give a message to the elements involved in blasphemy that our Ishq for Hazrat Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Salam Khatim-un-Nabiyeen will ever strengthen.

He said the Prime Minister has taken various steps to prevent blasphemous attempts in the Western countries.

The Minister said Prophet Muhammad Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Salam Khatim-un-Nabiyeen is the mercy for all the worlds, not for human beings alone.
