In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference has urged India to give up its intransigent and unrealistic approach on the Kashmir dispute and settle it in accordance with aspirations of Kashmiris and the UN resolutions to ensure permanent peace in the region.
In a statement, the APHC spokesman said India’s policy of repression has miserably failed to subdue the Kashmiris' sentiment for freedom and they are committed to continue their struggle till complete success.
He said Kashmiri people are engaged in a purely indigenous political struggle for securing their right to self-determination.
The spokesman denounced the brutal killing of a Pakistani prisoner, Zia Mustuffa, by Indian troops in a fake encounter in Poonch district and demanded an impartial probe into the matter.
Meanwhile, a report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, said religious freedom conditions have taken a drastic turn downwards in India as the BJP-led Indian government is tolerating widespread harassment and violence against religious minorities.
It said the extremist Hindus patronized by the BJP have vandalized at least 16 mosques and damaged dozens of houses and shops of Muslims in different areas of Tripura state in the last over a week.
