Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Shazia Marri says the government allocated one billion rupees for mother and children in flood affected areas under BISP Nashonuma program.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad today (Thursday), she said teams have been formed to ensure transparency in disbursement of cash assistance for flood victims as announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

She said due to unprecedented rains in this monsoon season 33 million people have been displaced. She appealed the affluent people to donate generously and provide food, tents and mosquito nets to the flood victims.
