Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has attended the opening session of the World Climate Action Summit.
On this occasion, he held informal talks with various world leaders including British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and the Prime Minister of Denmark Ms. Mette Fredrickson.
Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar also held informal conversation with British King Charles III on the occasion of 28th Conference of the Parties in Dubai.
Meanwhile, caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar held a meeting, today, with Managing Director of International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva on the sidelines of the high-level segment of COP 28.
Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar also met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Maldives Mohamed Muizzu on the sidelines of the high-level segment of COP 28.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar met with Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on the sidelines of the high level segment of COP-28.
PM Kakar visits Pakistan Pavilion
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar visited the Pakistan Pavilion, established at the venue of United Nations' 28th Conference of Parties.
The Prime Minister was briefed on the efforts being made by Pakistan with regard to the negotiations and facilitation in operationalization of the Loss and Damage Fund.
He was also briefed on the 'Living Indus Initiative' which is designed to rehabilitate the health of the Indus Basin in Pakistan through climate-resilient approaches and nature-based solutions.
The Prime Minister also met with the Pakistani climate experts at the Pavillion and appreciated their efforts with regard to climate change risk mitigation.
Caretaker Ministers for Foreign Affairs and Climate Change and Pakistan Ambassador to the UAE also accompanied the Prime Minister.
