Minister for States and Frontier Regions Engineer Ameer Muqam has called for collective efforts to establish durable peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing a press conference after attending a Grand Jirga for peace in Kurram at Circuit House in Kohat this afternoon, he said the province cannot afford any sectarian violence.
The Minister said the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should focus on restoration of peace in the province.
Engineer Ameer Muqam said federal government is ready to sit with the provincial government for finding a solution to lasting peace in the area.
Ameer Muqam said he will talk to federal government for the compensation of affected people of Kurram in recent violence.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi announced to hold All Parties’ Conference on Thursday for a lasting peace in Kurram and utilization of the natural resources of the province.
He said efforts for peace and public welfare will not be affected by ideological and political differences.
The governor said the heads of all political parties irrespective of their political affiliation are being invited in the conference.
