Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam has strongly condemned the shelling and baton-charge on municipal representatives in Peshawar.

In a statement, he said violence against peaceful protests is in direct contradiction to democratic values. Criticizing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the Minister said party’s double standards has badly exposed.

Engineer Amir Muqam also called on the government to immediately address the issues faced by these representatives.

The local government representatives were staging a protest demonstration in front of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Peshawar over non-issuance of developmental funds, when brutally treated by police.
