In Myanmar, military has announced a major cabinet reshuffle after declaring a state of emergency in the country.
The move came after the President's Office declared a state of emergency for one year and the legislative, executive and judicial powers were handed over to the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
Many political leaders including de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi have been detained.
The coup comes after tensions rose between the civilian government and the military following a disputed election.
Meanwhile, The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has strongly condemned Myanmar’s military takeover.
In a statement, Secretary-General expressed his grave concern regarding declaration of transfer of all legislative, executive and judicial powers to military terming it a serious blow to democratic reforms in Myanmar.
Similarly, United States, UK and European Union also condemned the military coup that saw the detention of senior political leaders.
