Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction has released its report about the oppressive Afghan Taliban rule and dire public situation.

According to the SIGAR report, an aid of around 3.71 billion dollar has been spent since US withdrawal from Afghanistan in August 2021.

The report pointed out that sixty four point two percent of the assistance was distributed through the Afghanistan Resilience Trust Fund, managed by UN agencies, UNAMA and the World Bank.

It said additional 1.2 billion dollars in aid funding is also available for release.

It said 3.5 billion dollars of the Afghan Central Bank's assets frozen in the United States were transferred to an Afghan fund established in Switzerland which has grown to four billion dollars after interest.

The report said it is worrying that despite such a large amount of aid, the Afghan Taliban's repressive policies continue.

Under the Taliban's rule, women were systematically excluded from political, social and educational life.

Over 40 million Afghan citizens are facing a critical situation, while the Afghan Taliban have completely failed to rebuild Afghanistan.
