Dr Zahid Anwar Khan (IR Expert): The political situation in Afghanistan is not stable despite the departure of NATO and foreign forces. The de facto Administration has not developed the situation. The international community has doled out billions of dollars to the Taliban regime but they have not performed well to deliver its benefits to the masses. The dynamics are quite complex in Afghanistan as Taliban regime is not friendly to any of neighbouring countries. Pakistan tried best to bridge the gap between the international community and de-facto rulers of Afghanistan but Taliban turned against Pakistan instead of being thankful. Taliban are required to improve ties with neighbours especially with Pakistan for stable region. The stakeholders should avoid extreme decisions and take moderate decisions for peace and stability in the region. Taliban must improve ties with neighbours to enhance trade and commerce relations with them. The international community should engage Taliban to ensure human and women rights in Afghanistan. Moreover, this engagement must also make them responsible to the international community. Isolation of Taliban is no way forward for regional stability.
