Minister for Water Resources Syed Khursheed Shah has stressed for long-term plans to avoid the effects of floods and heavy rains.

He was chairing a meeting of Prime Ministers' Flood Relief Committee in Karachi on Tuesday.

The Minister asked Flood Commission, Federal Government and Provincial Governments of Sindh and Balochistan to cooperate to formulate a long term strategy to mitigate the effects of floods and rains.
