The Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) and All Neighbours America organized 'International Religious Freedom and Interfaith Harmony Summit 2024' in Islamabad.
The Summit was aimed at catalyzing dialogue, collaboration and mutual understanding among varied religious and cultural communities within Pakistan and beyond.
Global leaders, religious figures, government officials, and civil society representatives participated in the summit.
The summit provided a crucial platform amidst increasing challenges to religious freedom and growing extremism and intolerance worldwide.
A delegation hailing from the United States attended the Summit. It also visited Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar and Jaranwala.
In their remarks, members of the US delegation said they met with people having different religions in Pakistan. They said people including Muslims and followers of other religions are enjoy freedom in Pakistan to perform their religious rituals.
The delegation further said there is also no restriction on minorities in Pakistan and Pakistani people do not like violence in the name of religion.
The US delegation further said Pakistan is a peace loving country and people of all religions are living here without any discrimination.
The delegation also appreciated provision of facilities to non-Muslims in Pakistan and expressed their best wishes for Pakistan.
