Dr. Muhammad Khan (Defense Analyst): Iran responded against what Israel and the United States have done. Ismail Haniyeh was the guest of Iran and it is against the Iranian tradition to assassinate someone who is the guest of the country. Israel planned to kill Ismail Haniyeh long ago but targeting him in Iran is a real point of concern. The Iranian Supreme Leader has already clarified that the Iranian response in this regard will be severe. It seems that the objective of Israel is to spread the war to the entire Middle Eastern region. In an address at the US parliament, the Israeli Prime Minister urged the United States to provide arms and ammunition to Israel to end the war in a speedy manner. Iran is the only country in the Muslim world that is openly and physically supporting the Palestinian people. The Muslim world must also stand united against Israeli aggression. Again it is the responsibility of United Nations and other world community to prevent Israel from committing further war crimes in Gaza.
A.M Shahid (Former Ambassador): Israel is continuing its illegal occupation of Palestine and in its aggression in the last few months over 40,000 innocent Palestinians have been martyred by the Israeli forces. Ismail Haniyeh was in Iran to attend the oath taking ceremony of the Iranian President and his assassination in Iran is a big embarrassment for Iran itself. The assassination of Hamas leader came just hours after Israel struck a southern suburb of Beirut, killing Fuad Shukr, the military commander of Hamas-allied Lebanese group Hezbollah. The National Assembly of Pakistan unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the ongoing Israeli brutality in Gaza which is a clear message to the world that Pakistan will continue to support Palestinian people. The international community needs to take serious notice of the situation in the Middle East otherwise it will be worse with time.
