PM Kakar leads Pakistani delegation at ‘high-level’ COP28 in Dubai

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar led Pakistani delegation at the 28th Conference of Parties of the United Nations in Dubai.

The Prime Minister made a national statement at the World Climate Action Summit.

Anwaar ul Haq Kakar highlighted the importance of environment protection during the conference and mentioned the climate risks faced by Pakistan despite being one of the lowest carbon emitting countries.

Pakistan, one of the countries most vulnerable to climate change, set up its own pavilion at the conference venue.

Pakistan used the conference to remind wealthy nations of their critical responsibility in supporting climate-vulnerable nations.

Anwaar ul Haq Kakar also held formal and informal meetings with the heads of major countries and discussed with them the situation in Gaza.

The Prime Minister effectively presented Pakistan's position on climate change and the need for establishing peace and stability in the world.

Various world leaders applauded Pakistan's efforts to deal with the challenge of climate change.
