Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar has said laws have been enacted and institutions established to combat violence against women in the country.

Addressing an event in Islamabad today, he however emphasized the need for a change in behaviour to achieve real progress.

He stressed that a balanced society, where both men and women enjoy their rights equally, is crucial for development. He also highlighted that Islam recognizes and upholds the rights of women.
