A delegation from Pakistan Britain Business Council met with President and CEO of Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) in Islamabad.
They discussed potential areas of cooperation in Pakistan's agriculture sector.
The delegation was headed by PBBC Chairman John Tucknott, the Chief Executive Rashid Iqbal and other senior officials.
The meeting centered on the mutual benefits of collaboration between Pakistan and the United Kingdom in addressing challenges such as food security and climate change.
Both the sides identified the immense opportunities to work together in areas such as trade, agricultural mechanization, and capacity building for farmers.
In his remarks, the Chief Executive of PBBC appreciated ZTBL’s initiatives, especially those focused on financial inclusion for small farmers and rural women.
The PBBC delegation expressed interest in furthering these efforts and confirmed plans to share a detailed proposal for collaboration in the near future. They also noted that this meeting is part of their visit to Pakistan to attend the IDEAS EXPO in Karachi, invited by the Government of Pakistan.
