A peace agreement has been reached between the Sunni and Shia communities of Kurram District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This was stayed by Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry in a video statement on Friday.
He congratulated the people of Pakistan, particularly those in Kurram, on this significant development.
The Chief Secretary expressed gratitude to the scholars and leaders of both communities for setting aside their conflicts and facilitating the signing of the peace agreement.
He also commended the law enforcement agencies for their cooperation in this matter.
The Chief Secretary said the first convoy of vehicles carrying supplies of different goods will depart for Parachinar tomorrow, under the protection of police and law enforcement agencies.
He said the peace committees will ensure that no miscreants disrupt the convoys or violate the agreement.
Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry assured that both the provincial and federal governments are committed to supporting the successful implementation of the peace agreement.
