The two-day first-of-of its kind European Union-Central Asia summit will begin in Uzbekistan's city of Sanarkand today.

According to Euronews, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said it would be the first gathering of leaders from the five Central Asian nations and the European Union in a single forum.

He said that the summit would strengthen economic partnerships.
