The Election Commission has decided to conduct inquiry into failure of its Result Transmission System during conduct of general elections on July 25.

The Commission has sent a letter to Cabinet Division to this effect.

It directed the Cabinet Division to constitute an inquiry committee comprising experts from National Telecommunication and Information Technology Security Board and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority and finalize the inquiry report within four weeks.

According to the terms of reference of inquiry, the committee will thoroughly analyze RTS, fix responsibility of its failure and also make recommendations for future course of action.
