The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Fact Check has clarified that a video circulating on social media by Fitna-al-Khawarij-affiliated Afghan-based nationalist propaganda, claiming that Pakistani security forces are freely passing through a Fitna-al-Khawarij checkpoint in Zakha Khel, Khyber District, is false and misleading.
In a post on X, it said the video has been taken out of context, adding that the individuals seen in it are members of the local Zakha Khel tribe and not terrorists.
The post said the attire and appearance of the people in the video reflect the common local dress of people in the area and should not be misrepresented as that of Khawarij militants.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Fact Check said the Zakha Khel tribe is patriotic and supports the state against Fitna-al-Khawarij elements.
It added that portraying local tribesmen as Fitna-al-Khawarij militants is an example of context manipulation and disinformation aimed at creating a false narrative about Pakistani security forces operating freely through a Fitna-al-Khawarij-controlled checkpoint.
