The nation is observing Kashmir solidarity day on Monday with a pledge to seek a solution to Kashmir dispute according to UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Nation-wide one minute silence was observed at 10.00 a.m. to honour Kashmiri martyrs.
In their separate messages on Kashmir Solidarity Day, President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have said that the dream of peace and prosperity in the region will remain elusive without resolving the Kashmir dispute.
They called upon the international community to urge India to respect the Human Rights Charter, put an immediate end to gross human rights violations in the occupied Kashmir.
In his message, President Mamnoon Hussain said Pakistan reiterates its unwavering political, moral and diplomatic support to the people of Occupied Kashmir in their struggle for self-determination right in accordance with UN resolutions.
The Prime Minister said the resolution of Kashmir dispute is essential for regional peace and development.
Foreign Office says Pakistan stands by the Kashmiri people for the realization of their right to self determination as enshrined in the UN Security Council Resolutions.
In a tweet, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said Kashmir shall become a part of Pakistan.
In his message, Chairman of Hurriyat forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed his gratitude to the people and government of Pakistan for their unflinching support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the right to self-determination.
He said the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the Hurriyat appreciate the government of Pakistan and its leadership who has always extended all possible support to our political movement for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.
The Mirwaiz said, the people of Kashmir have been battling hardships and oppression and they are being targeted by bullets and pellets.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been placed under house arrest by puppet authorities.
In Peshawar, a function in connection with Kashmir Solidarity day was held at Nishtar Hall on Monday.
Addressing the function, the speakers asked the UN to implement its resolution Kashmir and allow the Kashmiri people to decide their future by themselves.
Participants of the rally in Peshawar displayed play cards in their hands inscribed with slogans in support for just struggle of Kashmiri people for their right to self determination.
A photography exhibition in connection with Kashmir Day was also held in Peshawar.
Similarly, a vehicular procession taken out from General Bus Stand Peshawar to express solidarity with Kashmiri people.
Meanwhile, a rally was also taken out in D.I.Khan and Tank to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethren.
