Nation observed Kashmir Solidarity Day extending unflinching support to Kashmiri people

Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed on Tuesday to express whole-hearted support of the Pakistani nation to just struggle of Kashmiri people for their inalienable right to self-determination under the UN resolutions. One minute silence was observed at 10.00 am to pay homage to the martyrs of the liberation struggle of occupied Kashmir. Human chains were formed at Kohala and other points linking Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.

President, Dr Arif Alvi has urged the international community, the United Nations, and human rights organizations to take notice of the grave human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Addressing a seminar titled 'Kashmir Matters' to commemorate Kashmir Solidarity Day at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad this evening, he said India should welcome international observers in Occupied Kashmir if it has nothing to hide.

The President said New Delhi is using rape, pellet guns, and mass burials to suppress ingenious freedom struggle of the people of Kashmir against India occupation.

The President said India cannot suppress the freedom movement of Kashmiris through oppressive use of force and state terrorism.

Dr Arif Alvi said Kashmir is an unsettled issue of partition and Indian leaders had promised in the United Nations that Kashmiris would be given a chance of plebiscite under UN supervision so that they could decide their fate according to their own wishes.

He said that promise has not yet been fulfilled as Indian leadership fears that Kashmiris will prefer to go with Islamabad instead of New Delhi.

Dr. Arif Alvi demanded of the United Nations to live up with its promise and resolve the Kashmir dispute as per aspirations of the people of Kashmir.

The President also called upon the people across the border to use social media to tell the world as to what is going on in Occupied Kashmir.

He said even the independent intellectuals of India, like Arundhati Roy, are of the view that Kashmir has gone away from India.

Addressing the seminar Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Ali Amin Gandapur urged international community, Muslim Ummah, and human rights organizations to play their role in stopping the bloodshed in Occupied Kashmir at the hands of Indian forces.

The Minister said India has been committing atrocities in Occupied Kashmir at large scale for several decades. He said that Kashmiris are rendering unmatched sacrifices to achieve their birth right of self-determination.

He said Pakistan will continue its moral, political, and diplomatic support for the people of Kashmir in their just struggle for right to self-determination.

Addressing the seminar, Minister for Defence, Pervez Khattak said heart of every Pakistan throbs with his Kashmiri brethren.

He said Kashmir is the longest pending dispute on the UN agenda, which needs attention of the international community for its resolution at the earliest.

He said Indian attempts to change demography of Occupied Kashmir by allowing non-Kashmiris in the State would be failed. Addressing the Seminar, Information Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain called upon India to come to the dialogue table to find-out a peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute.

He said Kashmir is a human issue rather a dispute over territory and India should understand this fact.

He said India should immediately repeal the black laws in Occupied Kashmir as it cannot suppress the indigenous freedom struggle of the people of Kashmir.

Fawad Chaudhry said Indian regime has deployed one soldier against every ten Kashmiris making the occupied territory as the most militarized region in the world.

The Minister said Pakistan has openly invited India to come to the negotiating table for normalization, but Kashmir will be the central point of any dialogue with New Delhi.

He said we are foreseeing a resolution of Kashmir issue as per aspirations of the people of the held territory. Meanwhile, addressing the "Kashmir Cultural Festival" at Lok Virsa in Islamabad, Ali Amin Gandapur said that Indian brutalities are being exposed before the world despite tough restrictions on media in the held territory.

He said the government and poeple of Pakistan pay salute to the Kashmiris for their struggle and freedom movement.

Day-AJK

In connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day, hundreds of people belonging to different segments of society formed a human chain at the Kohala Bridge which links Muzaffarabad with Rawalpindi. Sirens were blown at 10:00 am and one minute silence was observed to pay homage to martyrs of Kashmir freedom movement.

Provincial Minister for Higher Education Punjab, Raja Yasir Humayun, Minister for Religious Affairs Sindh, Faraz Dhairru, APHC AJK leaders Ishtiaq Hameed, Mushtaq ul Islam and others were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Speakers including Provincial Minister for Higher Education Punjab Raja Yasir Hummayon, Minister for religious Affairs Sindh Faraz Dhairru and others said that Pakistanis and Kashmiris are bound with historical natural bond which is unbreakable.

They strongly condemned Indian atrocities on innocent Kashmiris struggling for their inalienable right to self determination.

They appealed international community to take serious notice of Indian state terrorism in the occupied valley and play its due role for resolving longstanding Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions and aspirations of Kashmiri people.

Various resolutions were also unanimously passed condemning Indian brutalities and demanding UN to implement its resolutions on Kashmir.

Meanwhile, large number of people belonging to different walks of life from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhaw formed a human chain at Barar-Kot which links Muzaffarabad with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In Mirpur, Kashmir Solidarity Conference was held to express complete unity and solidarity with the people of Jammu & Kashmir in their just struggle for right to self-determination.

People representing all walks of life including political, social and human rights organizations made human chain at Mangla Bridge connecting Pakistan with AJK to express solidarity with the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

Azad Kashmir Radio Mirpur is broadcasting special programmes to highlight significance of the Kashmir Solidarity Day.

Day-GilgitBaltistan

Kashmir Solidarity Day is also being observed in Gilgit Baltistan today.

In Gilgit, Deputy Speaker Jafarullah Khan and Force Commander Northern Areas Maj Gen Ahsan Mehmood Khan led the main protest car rally which started from Lalik Jan Shaheed stadium and culminated at Fatima Jinnah Degree College.

The second rally was brought out from Sir Syed Higher Secondary School.

A human hands chain was also made at Konodas Bridge on the occasion.

Kashmir Solidarity Day was also observed with full national zeal and zeast in Skardu today.

The main rally was taken out from Hameed Garh Chowk to Yaadgar-e-Shuhada Skardu.

Leaders from different political parties addressed the rally and condemned the Indian brutalities in the held territory.

Different other organisations also arranged the seminars and functions in this regard.

Day-Islamabad

A ceremony to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day was held at D-Chowk in Islamabad.

Addressing the ceremony, the Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan, said people and government of Pakistan fully stand with their Kashmiri brethren in their just struggle for freedom.

Ali Amin Gandapur said the international community should take note of the atrocities being committed by Indian troops on innocent Kashmiris for raising their voice of liberation.

On the occasion, a human chain was formed by the participants to express solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren.

Day-Sheikh Rashid

Minister for Railways, Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has said that Pakistan will continue to raise Kashmir issue at all forums. Addressing a gathering at Sheikhupura Railway Station today, he said the days are not far away when Kashmiris will enjoy their freedom.

Meanwhile, talking to media and Members of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Rashid said that it is our firm belief that Kashmiris will succeed in their just struggle for freedom.

He said entire nation stands with their Kashmiri brethren in their struggle to achieve the right of self determination.

Day-Punjab

In Lahore, Kashmir Solidarity Day is also being observed today like other parts of country, with great national zeal.

In this regard, a ceremony was held this morning at Aiwan-e-Karkunan-e-Tehreek-e-Pakistan, the Mall, Lahore under aegis of Nazria-e-Pakistan Trust.

Day-Sindh

The Kashmir Solidarity Day is also being observed in Sindh including Karachi today to express solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren.

Karachi Metropolitan Corporation is also organizing a pictorial exhibition in regards with the day.

To mark the day, Jamat-e-Islami is organizing conference on Kashmir in the Karachi and a rally will also be taken out which will be led by its chief Siraj ul Haq at University Road in the city.

A rally was taken out in Peshawar today to express solidarity with Kashmiri people.

The rally started from Milad Chowk which after passing through various roads, reached Chowk Yadgar.

Participants of the rally were carrying play cards in their hands inscribed with slogans in support for just struggle of Kashmiri people for their right to self determination.

PM-Tweet

Prime Minister Imran Khan has called upon all freedom loving people in the world to stand with Kashmiris in their just struggle against Indian occupation.

In a tweet, he said Indian Army is not fighting insurgents but an entire people in the Occupied Kashmir. He said brutality of Indian security forces in Occupied Kashmir has rallied all Kashmiris together in their demand for freedom from Indian Occupation.

Day-Bajaur

The people of Bajaur tribal district also observed the Kashmir Solidarity Day with aim to continue all sort of support to the Kashmiri people.

The main rally organized by Jammat-e-Islami was held at district headquarters Khaar.

Holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against the Indian government and in support of Kashmiri people, the participants also chanted slogans against the Indian government for keeping deprived the Kashmiri people of their right of self-determination.

A rally was also held at Inayat Kalli bazaar, the largest commercial center of the district which jointly organized by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and Pakistan Zindabad Tahafuz Movement.

The tribal elders and leaders of different political parties lauded the federal government for highlighting the Kashmir dispute at different forums, saying that Kashmir is an inseparable part of Pakistan.

Day-Balochistan

In Balochistan, a seminar regarding Kashmir Solidarity Day was held in Quetta.

Addressing the seminar, Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan said that Kashmiri people are rendering sacrifices to achieve their birth right of self-determination.

A rally taken out under the auspices of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Movement from Sariab Road in the city terminated at Press Club Quetta after passing through various roads.
