The UN Security Council has renewed sanctions against al-Shabaab terror group in Somalia.

The Council unanimously adopted a UK moved resolution under which sanctions will remain in place till 13th December this year.                                    

Voting in favor of the resolution, Pakistan's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations Usman Jadoon voiced serious concern over the presence of Da’esh and its affiliated terrorist elements in Somalia.

Calling for a united global effort to fight terrorism, the Ambassador said ability of terror groups to radicalize, recruit, raise funds and procure weapons must be disrupted.
