Jordan's former crown Prince Hamzah bin Hussein has renounced his title of prince. Announcing this in a tweet, Prince Hamzah said his personal convictions and the values that his father instilled in him were not in line with the approaches of institutions.

Fourth son of late King Hussein and younger half-brother of the ruling King Abdullah, Hamzah was put under house arrest last year after accusing the country's leaders of corruption, incompetence and harassment.
