In Afghanistan, the interim government has formally handed over operations and security of four airports to the United Arab Emirates.

In a statement, the Afghan Transport and Civil Aviation Ministry confirmed that a state-run firm based in Abu Dhabi, GAAC Solutions has taken charge of the international airports in the capital Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, and Mazar-e-Sharif.
