Pakistan's Ambassador to the US Rizwan Saeed Sheikh has extended heartfelt felicitations to the American people on the historic occasion of the 250th anniversary of the independence of the US.

In his message, he noted that the US history is defined by steadfastness, innovation and determination in the pursuit of freedom and democracy. He said Pakistan and the United States share the common values of freedom and democracy. He said Pakistan itself came into being on the basis of the same ideals.

As regards bilateral relations, the Ambassador said Pakistan–U.S. relations have successfully withstood numerous tests over the past eight decades. He said Pakistan–U.S. partnership has consistently proven to be productive not only bilaterally but also at the global level. Given the immense opportunities ahead, the future of the Pakistan–U.S. partnership is bright and promising.

Rizwan Saeed Sheikh said the recent frequency of high-level engagements between the leadership of both countries, along with convergence on a range of important issues is highly encouraging for a long-term partnership.

He said there is a need to expand investment and trade driven cooperation in key sectors such as minerals, energy, information technology, and agriculture for promotion of durable and mutually beneficially partnership.
