Under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, rehabilitation work on a number of flood-damaged highways and roads has been completed, while restoration work on the remaining sections is continuing on emergency basis.
According the Prime Minister's Office, National Highway N-15 has been reopened for traffic from Mansehra to Chilas via Naran.
Karachi to Chaman national highway N-25 which was affected by flood from Hub to Khuzdar has also been restored.
Karakoram Highway N-35 has been made fully operational.
Similarly, N-40 Quetta-Noshki section, N-45 Chakdara-Dir section, Indus Highway N-55 Rajanpur-Taunsa and D.I Khan-Pezu sections, N-65 Sibbi-Quetta section, N-70 Fort Munro section, N-90 Alpuri-Basham section, N-140 Gilgit-Shandour section and Strategic Highway S-1 Shangous section have also been restored for traffic.
The restoration work on certain highways is still continuing which include N-50 Zhob-D.I Khan section, N-95 Fatahpur, Kalam section and Motorway M-8 Wangu Hills-Banja section.
The Prime Minister is personally monitoring the rehabilitation work and a daily report is being submitted to him.
