Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said that Pak-Saudi relations are on an upward trajectory, with bilateral ties growing stronger each day.
Speaking to media in Islamabad today, he said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held an important meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his recently concluded visit to the Kingdom. He said that it was the fifth meeting with the Crown Prince in just five months, highlighting the warmth in the relationship between the two countries.
The Minister further said that Saudi Arabia is set to invest billions of dollars in Pakistan's economy. He mentioned that several projects have already been launched, including the opening of petrol stations by the Saudi company Aramco. He said that discussions are ongoing regarding the launch of Saudi Arabia's fast-food chain, Albaik, in Pakistan.
Attaullah Tarar emphasized that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman views Pakistanis as brothers, and believes there is no limit to Saudi investments in Pakistan. He further said that the Saudi leadership has expressed satisfaction with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his team's commitment to implementing agreed-upon projects and MOUs.
The Information Minister informed that more delegations from Saudi Arabia are expected to visit Pakistan, which will likely lead to increased investments and bilateral trade.
Attaullah Tarar also mentioned that both nations have consistently supported each other during challenging times.
He said that during his visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his best wishes to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and they agreed to enhance bilateral investments and trade.
Attaullah Tarar said that Prime Minister Sharif presented Pakistan’s viewpoint at the water summit and discussed the Indus Water Treaty.
