Five countries assume responsibilities as elected members of UNSC

Five new countries have assumed responsibilities as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

Two-year term of India, Ireland, Kenya, Mexico and Norway officially started on Jan 1.

The five countries replaced Belgium, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Indonesia and South Africa.
