The ninety-seventh birth anniversary of former Prime Minister and founder of Pakistan People’s Party Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was observed today.

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was born on this day in 1928 in Larkana.

Zulfikar Ali Bhutto founded Pakistan People’s Party in 1967. He served as President of Pakistan from 1971 to 1973 and prime minister of Pakistan from 1973 to 1977.

Meanwhile, in a message on the occasion, the President Asif Ali Zardari said Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a visionary leader who reshaped Pakistan’s destiny and became a voice of the voiceless.

He said Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was a staunch advocate of democracy, standing steadfast against dictatorship and oppression.
