Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed on Friday to condemn ongoing state terrorism and violence in Indian Occupied Kashmir.
A resolution to this effect was adopted in an emergency meeting of the federal cabinet held in Islamabad on Monday last with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the chair.
Rallies, functions and walks would be held in different parts of the country as well as by Pakistanis and Kashmiris living around the globe to expose Indian atrocities and highlight the need for peaceful resolution of the longstanding dispute.
Radio Pakistan's correspondent says the Government has decided to initiate a number of measures to apprise the international community about grave human rights violations by Indian occupation forces.
Special envoys would be sent to selected world capitals to highlight Indian atrocities in the Occupied Kashmir.
World bodies like the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other human rights organizations will also be approached in this regard.
Following special cabinet meeting, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi visited Muzaffarabad and addressed the AJK Legislative Assembly and Azad Jammu and Kashmir Council.
He emphatically stated that Pakistan stands shoulder to shoulder with its Kashmiri brethren in their just struggle for the right to self-determination.
He said the government, the people and all political parties are united on Kashmir issue and will continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri brethren.
Like other parts of the country, Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow (Friday).
Following decision of the Federal Cabinet, call for observing the day was given by AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan.
Rallies and protest demonstrations to denounce Indian brutalities and expressing solidarity with the victims of massacre of Kashmiris at Shopian and Islamabad will be held under government patronage in all divisional and districts.
Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Cell will arrange rallies throughout the state.
The main rally of Kashmir Solidarity will be taken out in Muzaffarabad tomorrow (Friday) morning.
Similar rallies will be taken out from the Deputy Commissioners offices in Districts Neelum, Jehlum Valley, Bagh, Rawalakot, Haveli, Kotli and other districts.
