The forty-second death anniversary of renowned writer, filmmaker, director and poet Shabab Keranvi is being observed today.
Shabab Keranvi was born in 1925 at Kerana, district Muzaffarnagar in Utter Pradesh India and his real name was Nazeer Ahmad.
He worked for promotion of Urdu literature and wrote twenty-four Urdu novels.
He debuted in the Pakistani film industry as a producer and lyricist with film 'Jalwa’ in 1955 while he made his directorial debut with film 'Surayya’ in 1961.
Shabab Keranvi died in Lahore on this day in 1982.
