Election Commission of Pakistan has directed Pakistan Security Printing Corporation to make arrangements for purchase of water-marked paper for ballot papers to be used in upcoming general elections next year.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Participants of the meeting briefed the commission on ballot papers' printing and use of indelible markers instead of irremovable ink in next general elections to which commission agreed.
The commission agreed to the recommendations of using irremovable markers and in this regard the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research will certify authenticity of these markers.
